Biography / Résumé

David Goldberg is a San Francisco based photographer whose recent work has been focused on the nexus between the directness of photography & the complexity of painting. Also on the issues that separate photography as a craft from those factors that make us perceive a piece as fine art.

He studied at City College of San Francisco & Columbia University. He has been an instructor in photography at the University of California, Berkeley Extension for 16 years.

He has exhibited extensively in California & has work in the collection of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento.

David is an active member of the San Francisco photographic community. Over the course of time, he has been involved in various San Francisco photographic institutions including Camerawork, Media Alliance & Eye Gallery. As a member of the Eye Gallery collective, he curated well-received photographic shows.
